Kansas City Trending Question: What Will Be Mayor Q's Legacy?!?

Credit where it's due . . . Mayor Q isn't moving into lame duck territory without a fight. 

He proved victorious on two issues in the last election. 

Behind the scenes his operatives helped to double-cross East side leaders and install his incognito selection for City Manager.

And . . .

Already the Mayor has less no less than three candidates he's backing to replace him.

However . . .

Nothing lasts forever and at in the very near future, Mayor Q's tenure will belong to history.

Leading up to that point, here's how locals have argued about his legacy . . .

First and foremost, critics of Mayor Q are adamant that the historic spike in Kansas City homicide will define his tenure. 

During the Mayor's time in office KCMO has suffered one record-breaking homicide count after the next. The eight years Mayor Q has been in office have been the most violent time in recorded KCMO history.

However . . . 

Let's be honest and remember that urban murders never really linger in the public memory for long. The violence makes a convenient talking point but very little changes . . . In fact, we've been having the same kind of conversation about KCMO crime since troubling numbers first started appearing in the 90s.

And this brings us to the sordid topic of sports . . .

The possibility of both the Kansas City Chiefs & Royals moving out of town could define the tenure of Mayor Q. 

For sports fans this is a big deal . . . In the grand scheme of things . . . Life goes on . . . Nobody pays too much attention to the nearly forgotten legacy of The Kings or the A's and their time spent in KC. Still, sending millions of bucks across the state line could be a defining moment for the sketchy developer-class desperately trying to defend their investment.
