The last remaining local radio listeners are still confused as to why Lazlo outlasted Johnny Dare on Kansas City airwaves.
Dare had more fans, more enthusiasm and a record of delivering a bigger audience.
Meanwhile . . . Lazlo is great, he also has a ton of fans and very enthusiastic following but not the same kind of diehard allegiance . . . And, let's be brutally honest, Laz is sometimes hard to listen to and works better as the moderator of a group conversation.
Here's one explanation as to how corporate radio picks one jock over the next in the current economic climate . . .
LAZLO IS MORE LIKELY TO BE THE NEXT LIBERAL JOE ROGAN FUNDED BY EPIC DEMOCRATIC PARTY CASH!!!
Make no mistake . . . Dare's politics are egalitarian and strongly supportive of the working-class. HOWEVER . . .
In all of Kansas City local radio, only Lazlo has the ability to deep dive into partisan politics and utilize his team to parody and brutally mock conservative politicos. This reason alone is why Lazlo is far more likely to compete for that sweet progressive funding that will soon be distributed for midterm election season.
To be fair, every talker in the nation is now chasing the money offered to replace Rogan. We merely note that Lazlo leads the pack in our cowtown . . .
Now, take a peek at the big picture . . .
A group of liberal operatives met in Washington after the election and decided to come up with a for-profit media company called AND Media, or "Achieve Narrative Dominance," to financially support social media influencers.
The company aims to raise $45 million over the next four years and has already raised $7 million, according to the report. Their business plan, shared with the Times, says the company will directly fund influencers and help produce their content. They will make a creator talent agency and make deals with "four flagship creators."
Another effort in the works is called Project Bullhorn, which will also gather donations to support liberal content creators. The project, which aims to raise $35 million in its first year, was pitched to donors at a meeting this month, where Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., was reportedly in attendance.
