Kansas City Royals Downplay Mortgage Deal At Old Sprint Campus

After years of deception, NOBODY trusts the Royals or their owner John Sherman and their efforts to garner a new stadium have been the most repulsive series of mistakes the Kansas City metro has ever witnessed from a formerly beloved franchise.

Make no mistake . . .

THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS SQUANDERED LOCAL GOODWILL & OVERLAND PARK MIGHT BE INHERITING A MINOR LEAGUE CLUB IF THE TEAM MOVES TO THE BURBS!!!

Seriously . . .

At this point KC proper might be ahead of the game by checking out how to get a hold of an expansion banana ball franchise.

As for this week's mortgage deal report . . .

Lesser local newsies scrambled to re-blog the tidbit but we think we served readers better by taking a beat in order to think this one out . . .

- The Overland Park Royals aren't really much of a threat given that the ghost of Sprint probably still haunts the campus . . . Remember: The bygone global billion dollar company imploded from a place much loftier than a cellar dweller baseball club that only got lucky a couple of times.

- There's a very big chance this deal was mostly a media plant to "encourage" the Missouri House Session and it clearly backfired . . .

Furthermore . . . Because this kind of media gamesmanship angers us . . . We're compelled to point out:

Overland Park isn't loyal to anything . . . It's a suburban commuter filing cabinet without any real soul, Overland Park is lifeless and it's not a real community. The place is a crumbling McMansion that mostly lives in fear . . .

If the Royals move to Overland Park they're literally digging their own grave just like every suburban chump who was suckered into the consumerist, militaristic & oppressive lie that marriage and nuclear family life offers fulfillment.

Of course, we're welcoming to other opinions on the topic.

For now, here's a roundup of the alleged non-event and more deets:

The Royals have confirmed that a business affiliated with the team has bought the mortgage of a possible stadium site in Johnson County, Kansas -- the old Sprint Campus near 119th and Nall, now known as Aspiria.

"The Kansas City Royals continue to explore all options throughout our community to develop a new stadium for the team," part of a team statement said. "We have not yet decided on a site, and any assertion to the contrary is inaccurate."
