The memorial is located within Hibbs Park at East 59th Street and Spruce Avenue.
Kansas City officials joined surviving family members to unveil the memorial, which includes the names of children who lost their lives to violence between 2001 and 2024. The names were submitted by families and community members.
Organizers hope the memorial will be recognized as a place of healing, reflection, and continued commitment to protecting youth. Plans for the memorial were shared in 2023.
