Kansas City 2025 Homicide Count Spikes 17% Already

This year KCMO has already recorded 61 homicides compared to only 52 at this time last year.

Traditionally, the early part of the year is the most peaceful and, typically, homicides escalate during the Summer months and continue until the first hard freeze of winter that sometimes doesn't arrive until January. 

Accordingly . . . 

We're watching "progress" from last year erased as Kansas City, Missouri returns to record-breaking levels of deadly violence.

Regarding the latest homicide case, here's what the KCPD share this evening . . . 

While the investigation remains ongoing, KCPD said detectives are "making headway identifying a subject of interest."
