I voted in favor of both zoning changes for the building of two single-family homes, in favor of a conditional use permit for a bed and breakfast with neighbor support, and cast the deciding vote to deny a flawed development near the Salem East neighborhood in Independence after residents voiced their opposition (4-3). While I support progress, I believe the voice of residents comes first—and I’m glad they won today. ♥️
