This week our TKC blog community was FIRST to talk about more G-men coming soon to our cowtown.
Here's a refresher on the sitch . . .
FBI Director Kash Patel testified to Congress last week. Mr. Patel said the move would help address an “explosion of violent crime” in the Midwest. In all, the FBI might move approximately 33 positions to the Kansas City field office, two to Springfield and one each to Topeka, Wichita and Jefferson City, Mr. Patel said during a U.S. House appropriations subcommittee hearing Wednesday concerning his agency’s fiscal year 2026 budget request.
But the story doesn't end there . . . Recently, this message found its way to us . . .
KANSAS CITY INSIDERS CONSIDER FBI INFLUX FOCUSING ON RAMPANT LOCAL POLITICAL CORRUPTION!!!
Here's the word . . .
"What we don't like to think about is very simple . . . Political corruption is part of violent crime. It's a documents fact of history that crime rises when local governments lose authority to govern and don't have the confidence of people. Even in KC's history, criminal organizations have stepped in to 'govern' communities when municipal systems had failed.
"Given all that . . . Don't be surprised if Feds go after local political misdeeds as well as street level violent crime. The feds are always watching government bodies and every ten years or so . . . A local politico usually serves as an example of government authority . . . The open secret in Kansas City is that there is no shortage of political targets and scams that might deserve a closer look."
And all of that is a bold statement that, sadly, rings true and provides another facet to consider as the "cruel Summer" approaches.
