East Side Kansas City Double Shooting Kills Couple In Driveway

Tonight the local homicide count hits #65 as midweek gunfire claims the life of two victims.

This latest killing marks more than a 16% spike in KCMO homicide over last year so far . . . 

Here's the first report sent out to media tonight from police . . . 

Homicide 9600 blk of Fremont

This evening, just after 9:00 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 9600 block of Fremont on a reported shooting.

As officers arrived they were directed to the driveway of a residence. There they located an adult male and an adult female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began performing life saving measures and ordered KCFD EMS to the scene. Medics declared both victims deceased, on scene.

This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this point. Preliminary investigation revealed there was an argument that led to a physical confrontation between several individuals. The physical confrontation led to shots being fired and the victims being struck. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance footage. Crime scene personnel are processing the scene for any available physical evidence.
