
This report kinda ignores a wink & nod from the streetcar supporter . . .
The "South Loop" scheme is probably vapor ware but it was conceived to block traffic noise. So maybe yet another park filled with "unhoused" people might lure back more hipsters.
OR . . .
Whilst we wish Mr. Johnson the best in his pursuit of better mental health . . . Maybe "the noise" isn't the biggest problem with a bustling part of Kansas City that's has bigger concern about crime & sketchy parking rules . . . Check-it . . .
The conversation comes about two weeks after the general manager of one of the oldest businesses in that area said people will leave if the situation doesn't get better. David Johnson, a Crossroads resident, says his quality of life has decreased with noise from vehicles he says are running around the neighborhood.
"I feel sort of trapped by the noise," Johnson said in his home Monday afternoon. "I do have a therapist and have been trying to work through some of those things, but there is plenty of scientific data that shows that urban noise, especially of a certain level, can have mental health impacts."
