Celebrate Kansas City Riverfront Bike/Pedestrian Toy Train Streetcar Bridge Groundbreaking

City Hall hype regarding one of many pricey projects that nobody voted for . . .

The project involves adding a pathway outside of the existing Grand Boulevard Bridge, creating a safe and continuous connection between the River Market district and the developing Berkley Riverfront Park area.

To complete this missing pedestrian link, specific accommodations will be implemented to align with Kansas City's Walkability Plan. Additionally, this section of Grand Boulevard is part of the proposed Bike KC plan to include separated bicycle facilities.

"This project is evidence of the City's commitment to building the kind of infrastructure that puts people first, especially those walking, biking, or using public transit," said City Manager Mario Vasquez. "This pedestrian bridge will add to the vibrancy of the River Market and Riverfront districts, continuing the positive momentum in Kansas City. I want to thank everyone who worked hard to make this possible. This was a team effort across agencies, city departments, and partners."
