Armed Security Guards Coming Soon To Country Club Plaza: Good News?!?

Kansas City's most iconic entertainment district will soon be packing heat.

And so we ask . . .

WILL ARMED GUARDS BRING PEACE TO THE PLAZA OR SET UP THE NEXT SERIES OF RIOTS?!?

Here's a quote from a report from one of Kansas City's very best foodie reporters who now keeps her followers up to date on Facebook . . . Check-it:

The Plaza has contracted with Metro Public Safety & Investigations in Gladstone, which will start in mid-May. Its clients include commercial buildings, shopping centers, museums and casinos.

It offered these details:

1. Its "Class A Armed" officers are equipped to stop any level of security threat. They have bulletproof vests, guns, handcuffs, tasers, pepper spray, batons, and body cameras. (The Plaza currently has "Class A Unarmed" officers who observe and report.)
2. Metro has Ford interceptors with law enforcement packages - spotlights, laptops, dash cams, and radios.
3. The Plaza will have extra officers at peak times - private, KCPD and undercover.
4. The Plaza also wants to add more outdoor cameras and license plate readers, and work with the city to privatize more sidewalks (to help stop unwanted or unsafe activity).
