This one is either a win for "liberty" or locals putting A LOT of faith in their leaders to understand the news and pandemics . . . When, in fact, just about EVERYBODY was wrong during the last spread of plague . . . Even the most reactionary virus deniers don't completely discount that a great many people who "didn't believe in COVID" ended up dead.

Kansas lawmakers Thursday voted to ban unilateral COVID-style closings and gathering bans by health officials.
Henceforth, such orders by health officials at both the state and local level will be considered only recommendations that must be sanctioned by elected officials or judges.
In short, no more church closings by fiat.
