Right now we wanted to share a bit of followup and KC waits for the inevitable fight over new city hall leadership.
Real talk . . .
The real debate moving forward is this fun fact that everyone else is afraid to mention:
Kansas City urban leaders are DEMANDING that the next city manager is a Black female. KC has hired a couple of Black men for the job so there's nothing really "groundbreaking" about a quote. However, a Black female would be a "historic" move according to some insiders.
For the moment . . .
KCMO is out NEARLY ONE MILLION BUCKS and the Mayor is losing one of his strongest allies.
And so we'll start out with the city hall leader looking for the yearbook answer and talking about more legal moves . . .
"I always respect jury decisions. And even where there is disagreement, we all have to make sure we work to build the best Kansas City where everyone can thrive including and particularly our workforce. We will make sure we review everything we caught in the verdict. I know the city attorney's office will be reviewing an appeal. And more than anything we'll make sure we keep doing the important work for the people of Kansas City."
In a related report, here's the quote form former local media dude Chris Hernandez . . .
“Incredibly grateful for this verdict because it means the jury was able to very clearly see the truth in this situation and I think they delivered a very clear message about the need for more truth and transparency at the City Hall in Kansas City,” said Hernandez.
