Kansas City's IRS office was bracing for job cuts this week, part of the Trump administration's effort to winnow the federal workforce. Union officials earlier this week worried that as many as 1,000 newly hired people could be let go, but so far that number is about 100, Shannon Ellis, the president of National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 66, told several local TV stations.
