Recently . . . Local homicides have moved indoors and we've noticed a few tragic stories of fatal fighting from people brought together by the holidays.
Accordingly, here's a peek at the effort to stop the trend . . . Check-it:
Every year, KCPD says officers respond to over 5,000 domestic violence-related calls on average. That’s around 14 per day.
He says there are several times a year they see an uptick in requests for help: the Super Bowl, when school starts, and around the holidays.
“When you are dealing with financial challenges, family issues, dealing with stress that can exasperate other tensions and other emotions that lead to domestic violence,” said Lamb. “As those numbers continue to rise, we are continuing to provide services for families that are in need.”
