We share this follow-up if only because it's important to consider other perspectives about the rise in local crime and now it should be addressed. On this blog there's an overwhelming demand for more police and harsher punishments BUT NOT EVERYBODY feels that way.

Here's one example out of many . . .

Mike Schroeder, the co-owner of Oddly Correct in Hyde Park said he doesn't believe increasing police in the area will completely solve the crime problem. He wants the city to focus on prevention through resources for people dealing with substance abuse, poverty, and homelessness.

The things that are pushing people to places of desperation, where they're willing to harm another person, said Schroeder.

'Our people don't feel safe': KC business owner calls on city after employee is victim of crime

Mike Schroeder, co-owner of Oddly Correct in Hyde Park, posted to his business's Instagram last week after he said one of his employees was robbed at gunpoint.
