Jackson County Exec Frank White Vetoes Elected Assessor Plan

Local newsies are trying to downplay it . . . 

But there's a VERY REAL effort to focus on population numbers written into Missouri rules which mandate that Jackson County should already have an elected assessor.

Missouri Republicans have been tinkering with new legislation that would require elected assessor for the past few years.

County Executive Frank White vetoed a proposal from legislators. last week.

Currently, White appoints the county assessor.

Jackson County is the only county in Missouri which does not elect an assessor.
