Here at TKC, we don't make political endorsements.
However . . .
Documenting the opinions of influential Kansas City denizens is a big part of our blogging.
Accordingly . . .
For those who don't know . . . Bill Nigro is a longstanding biz leader in Westport with an extensive collection of family and friends who are deeply rooted in local tradition across the metro.
Over the years we've debated with Bill Nigro, we've watched his power moves and admired his boundless energy . . . But more than anything we've been inspired by his commitment to his favorite neighborhood.
For better or worse . . .
Bill Nigro is Westport.
He has invested his money, time and, most importantly, a great deal of love in Kansas City's historic entertainment district.
Over the years Bill Nigro has endured one crime wave after the next along with political upheaval and demographics changing back & forth.
Through it all Bill Nigro has built several businesses, helped countless young people establish successful careers all whilst serving as the strongest advocate for his beloved and often embattled Westport.
And so . . .
When Bill Nigro sends word our way . . . We're obliged to listen and share the message with our blog community . . . Here's his latest note . . .
Bill Nigro: Tracey Chappell for Jackson County Prosecutor!
This is my contribution to Tracey for her campaign. The first thing my friend Tracey told me was that she was going to be tough on crime. I told her she needed a better yard sign because she's running against the democratic machine and Mayor Lucas's choice, which means more of the same soft on crime.
Jackson County needs stronger leadership in the prosecutor's office and Tracey is that person. There has never been a more important position to vote for in the county. Crime is out of control and criminals need to know that the "get out of jail free cards" will be gone. Tracey is already a prosecutor for Blue Springs and she's not afraid to punish criminals to reduce crime. Criminals need to know that they will be punished for what they did. Wake up Kansas City and Jackson County! We need more jails and harsher punishments to slow down crime.
If you'd like one of these signs in your yard, please reach out to me on my Facebook page or stop by my office at 4021 Pennsylvania Ave. in Westport. GOOD LUCK TRACEY CHAPPELL!
Bill Nigro
