It doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things as a faux controversy over Chiefs gear merely generated publicity for a B-list country music star who has garnered most of his notoriety by carefully cultivating his tabloid image rather than songwriting.
Still . . .
Some of his fans have worked themselves into a tizzy with denials over a non-issue in what seems like an overreaction to Swiftie annoyance . . . Here's a glimpse of pop culture defense for August "snowflakes" of all varieties . . .
First, Wallen’s jersey was customized and said his last name on the back, not Butker’s. Second, Wallen’s tradition is to wear a customized jersey with the No. 7 on it at many of his concerts, perhaps as a reference to his song “7 Summers.”
Wallen himself has not commented on the jersey or his reason for wearing it yet.
