The story is mostly followup but it's important to remind voters about 12th & Oak operating without many checks and/or balances.

"In a series of invoices from May 2022 to November of 2023, Washington D.C.-based law firm WilmerHale billed Kansas City in excess of $2.3 million. The amount is a far cry from the initial $450,000 approved in January 2022 by the City Council to hire WilmerHale."
