Kansas City Primary Voter Turnout Doubted

Not every local polling place was packed.

Lauri Ealom, the Democratic Election Board director for Kansas City, Missouri, said voter turnout for Tuesday’s primary election seemed lower than she expected.

“We’re at about 14, 15%, maybe 20% projected for the day if it doesn’t pick up more, but we anticipated a larger turnout than this, especially with the cooldown,” Ealom said. “So I really don’t know what’s happening.”
