Kansas City Mourns After Tragic Killing Of Chef Shaun Brady

In this post we merely want to share some of our local reading amid so much local shock, grief and frustration following the deadly shooting of Chef Shaun Brady.

Nevertheless, the point of this blog is to provide critical context to local news. And so we must mention the reality of the situation . .

For those who don't know, Kansas City has endured the bloodiest years in local history in the past half decade. Last year KCMO suffered 182 homicides, the highest number ever recorded. Rising violence and its impact is fact of life in this cowtown yet hope the response here is compassion given that only the most callous reactionaries would deny expressions of trauma following the slaughter of the innocent.

And so . . .

We're trying and FAILING to limit our opinion and simply share more resources, information and perspectives as Kansas City attempts to heal after yet another killing.
