Kansas City 2024 Homicide #88: Police Respond To Dead Body Call

Once again, here at www.TonysKansasCity.com we start the week with news of tragedy and the latest addition to the growing list of local homicides. 

Of course, this year's touts a lower rate of killing on local streets. Of course we encourage progress and hope for peace in local neighborhoods. But, given that the last five years have been the bloodiest in local history, some level of skepticism is fair. 

Still, at this time last year there were already 119 homicides and there is no denying the drop in local killing. 

Nevertheless . . . 

The latest report of deadly violence remains important . . . Here's what we know right now:

Homicide 3600 block E 35th

On 08/04/24 just before 9:30PM, officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of E 35th St. on a reported Dead Body call for service

Upon arrival, officers were summoned to a nearby residence for an adult male victim who was located just inside the front door of the home and not breathing. Officers and EMS entered the home and observed the male to be suffering from unknown bodily trauma. EMS personnel declared the victim deceased at that time.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unknown and no one is in custody.

This is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
