Johnson County Fights 'Misinformation' Against Homeless Shelter

The struggle "for the narrative" is underway in the Golden Ghetto as opposition of an upcoming shelter confronts concerted efforts to discredit their objections.

As usual . . . Locals on opposite sides of the debate refuse to agree on any objective reality.

Meanwhile . . . The only thing we know for certain is that JoCo in fact confronts more homeless people with very little in the way of local planning to deal with the population influx now that shipping them to KC Proper under the cover of night isn't an option.

Officials said misinformation was something they wanted to specifically deal with throughout the process.

"I'm hopeful that we can really present to the planning commission and to the council to mitigate any concerns that there are," said reStart Inc. CEO, Stephanie Boyer. "Were hearing right now that one of those concerns is potential impact to neighborhoods or other businesses, and an increase in law enforcement need and we've got lots of data to say that that's not true."
