Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey submitted a motion Wednesday in the case seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed after the Missouri State Tax Commission issued an order earlier this week.

The tax commissions order called on the county to roll back assessments on any property that saw an increase of more than 15 percent during the 2023 assessment cycle.

Jackson County officials issued a statement late Wednesday balking at the tax commissions order, calling it politically motivated and inaccurate.
