Kansas City 2024 Homicide #80: Deadly Gunfire On College Avenue

News of the latest deadly shooting just broke this evening . . .

Here is the first report . . .

Homicide 2400 block of College Ave

On 07/09/24 around 9:30PM, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of College Ave on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers were summoned to a nearby residence where an adult male was located just outside the front of the home. EMS responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

An adult male subject was on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident. Detectives are not currently looking for any additional persons of interest.

The circumstances leading up to the homicide are currently unknown.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements.

This is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
