Kansas City 2024 Homicide #76: Deadly Gunfire At Northland Apartment

Summer shooting reaches across the bridge this week as even the nicer part of KC proper confronts rising violence.

Homicide 1400 block of NW 80th Terrace

This morning just after 6am officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1400 block of NW. 80ter. On a shooting call.

On arrival officers were directed inside an apartment where they located an adult male shooting victim unresponsive.

Officers rendered aid and called for EMS. EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where he was declared deceased.

Officers detained an adult male subject of interest a short distance away for further investigation.

Investigation indicates that an interaction took place inside the apartment between the victim and the suspect that led to shots being fired and the victim being struck.

Detectives are not searching for any additional subjects of interest at this time, and there there is not believed to be any ongoing threat to the residents in the area.

Detectives are working along side the Clay County Prosecutors office to provide investigative findings for them to make a determination of any applicable charges.

Man shot, killed early Wednesday morning in Northland apartment

A man was shot and killed in an apartment in the Northland early Wednesday morning. Kansas City, Missouri, police were called to the 1400 block of N.W. 80th Terrace shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The homicide took place in the 1400 block of NW 80th Terrace before 7:45 a.m.
