Surgeon General Declares Firearm Violence Crisis As Mayor Q Touts Crime Drop

Two people were gunned down in Kansas City so far this week. And it's only Tuesday. 

However, the uptick in deadly Summer shooting doesn't stop Mayor Q from offering hope about violent crime reduction.

Here's his social media message from earlier this morning . . .

"Today we stand at 71 homicides compared to 97 homicides at this point in 2023. Also down from five year average."

Dr. Vivek Murthy warned in the advisory that gun violence poses a “serious threat to the health and well-being of our country,” that has not just a serious physical toll, but mental as well.

It marks the first time the government's leading public health body has honed in on guns.
