Summer 2024 Season Of Stealing Targets Kansas City Northland

So many of our progressive friends tell us that crime is down but, tragically, nobody mentioned that to a Northland dude who was recently hit by a car as an alleged crook swiped a ton of merch from a box store and attempted to drive into the sunset with his ill gotten gains.

Here's the word . . .

According to a court document, SUSPECT tried to shoplift more than $800 worth of merchandise from a Target on North Ambassador Drive Friday afternoon.

Detectives reported watching video from the store. It allegedly showed a SUSPECT loading the stolen property into a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the probable cause statement.

The document mentioned a witness recording SUSPECT in the parking lot. As the witness walked away from the Jeep, SUSPECT allegedly intentionally aimed the Jeep at the other man. The probable cause statement alleges SUSPECT drove the Jeep onto the curb to hit the man recording him.

According to the probable cause statement, the witness needed 18 staples to the back of his head and 12 stiches to his right knee to address the injuries he suffered.

The victim told investigators he walked up to the Jeep and kicked the side mirror before the Jeep hit him.
