Lawsuit Alleges Horrific Abuse At Local Boys & Girls Summer Camp

This tragic tale reminds us that the risks are many amid warmer weather months and there might not be much harm for youngsters to practice being homebodies . . . Here's the story:

"According to the lawsuit, an 8-year-old boy attended a Boys and Girls Camp in Independence in July 2023. The lawsuit states campers took a field trip to an Independence Middle School to use a swimming pool. While on the field trip, an older child, identified only as A.R., allegedly isolated the younger boy in a bathroom and (sexually assaulted him.)

"The lawsuit claims A.R. was expelled from school for inappropriately touching other students. It also claims the Boys & Girls Club knew about the boy’s previous behavior before the incident in the bathroom."
