KC Pet Project Promises Crackdown To Save Doggies From Heat

As temperatures soar to nearly 100 degrees, the safety of pets becomes paramount. KC Pet Project has already rescued a significant number of animals this summer.

"For an animal that has been in the sun all day without water, that can be deadly," Ryan Johnson, Chief of Animal Services at the KC Pet Project, warned.

The organization conducts routine wellness checks throughout the metro area to protect animals from the sun.

"As the temps continue to increase, we're going to see more demand from the community to respond to these calls of dogs left outside in the heat," Johnson said . . .

In addition to their rescue efforts, the KC Pet Project also employs a team of animal cruelty investigators. They urge the public to report any signs of abuse or neglect to the KC Pet Project.
