Before the official start of Summer, Mayor Q seems eager to mention recent progress in local homicide stat decline.

"Our latest update: Homicides are down 22% from last year and down 15% from the five year average. Each is a tragedy, so we will continue working hard to see this number keep falling."

"Context: The past 5 years have been the BLOODIEST in local history and last year set another RECORD-BREAKING homicide count. Any progress is welcomed but we've had two weekends of triple murders in a row so it's fair for voters to be skeptical before the official start of Summer."
