Claire McCaskill Decries 'Lying' & Proclaims: Crime Is Down

Here's our biggest problem with an optimistic statement from a former Missouri Senator turned cable news pundit . . .

Summer hasn't even officially started. 

Also . . . 

Notice the former Senator isn't using verified data from the Feds and instead uses stats that aren't yet complete. 

One more thing . . . 

Look closely at her chart and Missouri's two biggest cities are listed . . .

Right now homicides are down in KCMO and that's great . . . But we're coming off our deadliest year in history. 

Even worse . . .

Deadly crime is UP in STL at the moment.

Again, reasonable people WANT DEADLY CRIME TO DECLINE.

What is unproductive is turning the conversation about homicide into a campaign issue without looking at POLICY that worsens the trend.

In fairness, here's her quote and more context . . .

"The right wing is lying…and the right wing media is lying. Violent crime is down. This data directly from police departments in major cities."
