Many In Kansas City Remain Powerless

As crews work to clean up the damage and restore power for all customers, the company said those without power could be waiting more than another day.

“More than 1,600 personnel are working on power restoration,” Evergy said on its website Monday night, noting that 175 vegetation crews are out working to clear extensive tree damage.

The National Weather Service confirmed Monday afternoon that two tornadoes touched down in Johnson County Sunday night after 10:30 p.m.
