Many In Kansas City Remain Powerless At Conclusion Of Memorial Day 2024

For those who still don't have the lights on . . . There's hope that the power will back back on by early tomorrow.

"Evergy says there are still 1,515 active outages impacting 21,005 customers as of 11:30a.m. Its crews are working with about 900 other utility workers who came from neighboring areas on Sunday and Monday, but even with the extra help, some may still be waiting on the lights to come back on until Wednesday. "

Thousands still waiting for power after weekend storms

After about 140,000 customers were left in the dark this weekend in the aftermath of storms and straight-line winds, Evergy says it's restored power to all but about 20,000 as Monday morning.
