On Wednesday afternoon, Lucas held a press conference to confirm for the first time that an ongoing investigation was still underway to determine the exact cause of issues.

The mayor stopped just short of calling the problems the result of a cyber attack and says that the intermittent shutting down of internal systems was a preemptive measure to prevent the suspicious activity from spreading further within the city's online network.
