Kansas Conservatives Decry 'Millionaire Pensions' For Superintendents

As always, the data from our conservative colleagues is EXCELLENT and worth a look no matter your partisan bent. 

However . . .

Counting & complaining about other people's money is never a good look and only serves to convince baristas that they don't need to smile at customers. 

We understand their frustrations . . .

But the reality is that KANSAS HANDS OUT BILLIONS WORTH OF CORPORATE WELFARE and cash for schools is the least troubling aspect of government largess . . .

"Kansas has 4,375 KPERS ‘millionaires’—state and local government retirees who will collect at least $1 million in pension benefits over their first 20 years of retirement. That is an increase of 597 over last year."

The money line . . . 

"State law prohibits KPERS from releasing names, but it’s a pretty safe bet that the first four on the list are superintendents because they are the highest paid.  Pensions are based on a final average salary over the previous few years and years of service."

Almost 600 Kansas government retirees were added to the KPERS 'millionaires' list in 2023 and will collect at least $1 million in pension benefits in their first 20 years of retirement.
