Sad news hits social media this evening . . .
Midtown Kansas City's most beloved Internet guru Lazarus Potter has reportedly passed away.
Right now friends are sharing their sympathies and this is our favorite message so far:
"Never enough time. Will miss you my friend/Kansas City's friend."
Kansas City political denizens know Laz because he was one of the first guys to design campaign websites back in the late 90s.
His firm The Lazarus Group was one of the most friendly in town and very approachable for small biz and entry level firms.
Even better . . .
Laz was better at offering tech help than most because he was an EXCEPTIONALLY PATIENT person who valued human connections over biz networking.
Many thought of him as KC's version of Steve Wozniak.
Here's what we really like about Laz . . .
We saw this first hand . . . One of his clients was angling to garner a tidbit of info about another customer and Laz VERY NICELY SHUT HIM DOWN and said "I can't do that" whilst quickly changing the topic. Staring out in the blog world, we were exceptionally impressed by that exchange.
Others will have better memories but here at www.TonysKansasCity.com we respect the guy's tech hustle and know that his work defined success for a generation of local Internets hopefuls.
R.I.P.
