
Last night downtown denizens noticed sirens and activity across the downtown loop.
It turns out KCPD was busy conducting a roundup that HOPEFULLY helps to deter hundreds of street racers, stunt drivers and ATV enthusiasts who use the urban core as their playground.
Here's are the basics & more . . .
"The Kansas City Police Department towed nine vehicles, made several arrests and cited dozens for street racing, spectating and hazardous moving violations. Efforts were focused around entertainment districts downtown, the department stated."

Statement from police on the matter:
"We are committed to ensuring the streets of Kansas City remain safe for all.
"Friday night and early this morning, officers zeroed in on illegal street racing, consisting of ATVs and motorcycle groups breaking the law by trying to take over streets."
