Kansas City Public Schools Doomed After Dotte Nukes School Bond?!?

Last night voters in The Dotte sent an important message to the metro.

Basically . . .

IN THE MIDST OF EPIC INFLATION & RISING TAXES, NOT EVEN SCHOOLS WILL BE SPARED THE WRATH OF VOTER SCORN!!!

Thankfully, insiders offered us a preview and we discussed the hot mess before it happened.

Check the outright shock from this worthwhile on the scene missive . . .

Voters deny $420 million bond issue for KCKPS

However . . .

A local politico pushing KCMO funding for schools doesn't seem to have read the memo.

Here's what 3rd District Council lady Melissa Robinson recently noted on X/Twitter regarding a very similar issue under consideration on the KCMO side of the state line . . .

"I encourage you to tour where children are learning in KCPS. The capital improvements are desperately needed. Every person, firm and developer benefiting from Tax Abatements should be first in line to fund this campaign. Support the increase. Long overdue."

More context . . .

The words of Council Lady Robinson are very brave, kind and share a bold statement that puts the well-being of students ahead of economic reality.

However . . .

KANSAS CITY VOTERS HAVE BEEN HOSTILE TOWARD KCPS FOR DECADES & NOW IS THE WORST TIME TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY!!!

Also . . .

We should mention that KCPS IS RICH WITH PROPERTY TAX CASH and if they need building improvements, they have more than enough funding despite the protestations of their inept management.

An even more important takeaway from the vote . . .

If KC voters aren't going to fund schools, it's very doubtful that we'll fund stadiums any time soon. This turn of events gives another advantage to Kansas to steal Royals & Chiefs given their STAR BOND ability to fund without going to the electorate.

Your mileage might vary and we'd really like to know what our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community thinks in the aftermath of this stunning turn of events . . .
