Alternative headline . . .

NEWSFLASH!!! AS 2024 KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE RAMPS UP, CRITICISM AGAINST THE TOP COP ESCALATES!!!

Insiders and constant commenters have told us that her honeymoon with the community would be over sooner than most expected.

However . . .

Rather than hold Mayor Q or ANY urban elected leader accountable for local shootings . . . Critics have focused their ire on KCPD Chief Graves because she hasn't shown up to mostly pointless anti-crime group therapy sessions.

But don't mistake our snark for support.

Moving against the KCPD Chief is SMART for urban political leaders because her support is waning and tepid at best outside of a very small circle of 12th & Oak insiders.

And what ever happened to Mayor Q's promise to get the homicide count under 100??!

Nevertheless . . .

“You know it’s interesting that when you talk about violent crime, you always go to the mayor, or you see the mayor on TV with soundbites – but he’s not an expert on violent crime or crime in general; he’s a politician. So, why isn’t the chief of police stepping forward?” Eric Wesson, the publisher at The Next Page KC, asked.
