Kansas City Pet Project Advocates Jail Time For Animal Cruelty

Certainly . . . We join animal lovers with their concern for local puppers.

However . . .

As always, we serve to remind locals that this group promised KCMO voters MILLIONS worth of donation funding for their new shelter that never really materialized . . . And everybody just forgot about the money because these middle-class white ladies seem nice.

Fair enough.

But now the group is getting tough in the name of animal protection.

Consider . . .

AMID HISTORIC LOCAL  CRIME . . . KC PET PROJECT PROMOTES TOUGHER PENALTIES & JAIL TIME AGAINST PERPETRATORS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!

Again, this isn't a bad idea.

However . . .

Is the reality in Kansas City that there's more consequence for hurting a dog and very little risk when misdeeds are directed against another human?!?

We hope not . . .

But here's a bit of evidence for local arguments that merits a look . . .

KC Pet Project Chief Communications Officer Tori Fugate worked the case along with the animal services division.

“Multiple dogs were in crates together – there was feces everywhere, urine, it was just not a humane situation for those animals,” Fugate said. “That was very exciting for our team to actually see some jail time in this, and we’re hoping that more of these cases that we can submit to the Municipal Court, prosecutors, as well as state prosecutors will be able to see justice served through things like jail time as well.”

KC Pet Project would like to thank the City Prosecutor’s Office as well as the Kansas City Police Department for their assistance on this case. KC Pet Project’s Cruelty Investigations Team says that it remains dedicated to pursuing justice for such egregious acts in all cases of cruelty toward animals.
