Kansas City Metro School News Highlights: Bond Smackdown Awaits

Fact is . . . Most of the news we share about education issues NEVER finds much traction on this blog.

Long, long ago . . . There was a vibrant "school board beat" amongst local newsies but the public slowly lost interest and in this social media era it seems that most people just want to tell off school board officials in order to garner fame and then get on with their lives without contributing much.

However . . .

On the topic of local education . . . A quick thought comes to mind . . .

Kansas City Public Schools are slowly getting ready to ask voters for more cash. It'll be interesting to see so many urban denizens reverse course and ask taxpayers for money without offering much in return. At least the Chiefs & Royals were willing to give some discounts on advanced tickets and a few crumbs for the urban core . . . Meanwhile, most longtime residents know that KCPS has been MOSTLY a source of constant disappointment and training ground for future community problems. Expect the debate on this topic to turn UGLY very quickly in the not to distant future.

Until then . . .

We share notes from local schools that are somewhat hopeful, worth quick consideration and reveal the ongoing challenge of educating the NEXTGEN in a constantly changing world.
