Kansas City Council Dude Chasing Oracle Out Of Town Even Faster?!?

The behind the scenes that we've noted on this blog for years . . .

The old Cerner campus in Southeast KC never delivered on its economic development promises.

That's a fact of life no matter your partisan bent.

Even worse . . .

East side leaders have always felt cheated by the deal wherein minority contractors were cut out.

However . . .

FLEXING ON ORACLE IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THEY COULD KILL THEIR LAST REMAINING 6,000 METRO JOBS WITHOUT MUCH HESITATION!!!

Context . . .

Oracle is one of the best tech companies in the world because they are lean AND MEAN.

Previously . . .

Our blog community was the only news outlet in KCMO that contradicted mainstream hype about the company keeping jobs.

Remember . . . Since the takeover . . . Half of the KC workforce is kaput.

Now . . .

One council dude could speed up the INEVITABLE PROCESS of the company chipping away at even more jobs before they pack up and leave town . . . Check-it:

Councilman Darrell Curls' resolution would request a review of the surrounding Bannister & I-435 TIF Plan to determine whether Cerner, now Oracle Health, has complied with its agreed-upon obligations.

The measure calls for the Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City and the Tax Increment Financing Commission to report to the City Council within 60 days "on any failures of the project" and to include recommendations for enforcement, "including but not limited to litigation or termination of incentives."
