Kansas City 2024 Homicide Count Hits #50 After Blue Ridge Gunfire

Again, the "progress" against the local homicide count is quickly fading . . . Last week local leaders were touting the 25% reduction in local killing.

At this date on the calendar in 2023 the homicide total was #60 . . . Here's a glimpse at the latest killing that puts us halfway to the century mark well ahead of the year's halfway point . . .

Homicide 11800 blk of Blue Ridge

An interaction occurred between the victim and suspect that led to the victim to being shot.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives and crime scene investigators are obtaining witness statements and gathering evidence to determine what led up to the incident.
