The latest local killing report from the nice side of the bridge as the homicide count ramps up for Spring/Summer 2024 . . . Check-it:
6500 NW Barry Rd LATE DEATH
On 05-14-24 at about 10:20 PM, police officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of NW Barry Rd in regard to a disturbance unknown. Upon arrival officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers immediately began rendering aid and simultaneously ordered EMS. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. KCPD Assault Squad detectives responded to the scene to begin interviewing witnesses and processing evidence.
On 05-15-24 the victim died of his injuries. Homicide detectives have taken over the case and it is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
