Jackson County Voters Earn Second Chance To Keep Chiefs?!?!

BECAUSE THERE IS NO ECONOMIC DATA INDICATING THAT TURNING AWAY REPEAT SUPER BOWL CHAMPS IS ANYTHING BUT SILLY!!!

However . . .

We'll stipulate that it's gonna be expensive.

Also if we're gonna spend the cash . . . 

Jackson County Chiefs fans deserve a world-class football stadium dome that would be a marvel for other events as well.

The Executive just released a statement offering an objection to this plan. We posted that in its entirety.

Legislator Abarca says these are "exclusively different proposals" and he's going to allow the Missouri SecState to do the interpretation over the objections of the Executive's office . . .

Also . . .

The Legislator notes that locals who have been watching this ongoing war of words remember that the Exec also offered the idea of a separate tax for the Chiefs.

NOW, here's the start of this evening's conversation . . .

One of the ordinances asks Jackson County voters to authorize a 3/16-cent sales tax for 30 years to help retain the Chiefs in the county.

The second ordinance asks voters to authorize a 3/8-cent sales tax for 40 years for the same purpose.
