Prosecutor's Office announces intention to seek death in Acree case

The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office today filed a notice with the 16th Circuit Court that it will seek the death penalty in the prosecution of Larry Acree.

Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker issued this brief statement:

Today's notice states the supporting criminal aggravating circumstances that the state will prove in seeking the death penalty in this case. Despite the high public interest in this matter, we will not make further public comment while this case is pending. 

The next hearing is set for July 10 at 1:30 p.m.
