EPIC Kansas City South Loop Donations: Will They Ever Arrive?!?

Probably not.

Why??!

Because Kansas City has a nasty habit of touting BIG BUCKS IN PRIVATE DONATIONS that have disappeared in the past. 

Remember . . . 

The KC Pet Project said that if voters approved more than A BILLION BUCKS in GO BONDS then "private donors" would make up about 8 MILLION in additional costs. 

That never happened. 

Instead . . .

KCMO got into biz with the KC pet project and this blog is the only outlet who remembers that middle-class white ladies can make MILLION DOLLAR ELECTION PROMISES and nobody ever holds them accountable. 

And so . . .

We can't chide biz for POSSIBLY seeking the same kind of arrangement given that NOBODY is keeping track.

In the meantime, here's a bit more math on this town's new scheme for Downtown park space that's really just noise reduction inside the loop by way of a sketchy tunnel . . . The imaginary money offered:

"$22 million from private donors (including H&R Block, JE Dunn Construction, Americo Life Inc., Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, and Evergy)"
