Aftermath report of a scary weekend encounter confronted by law enforcement . . . Here's what we know so far . . .
"An officer with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department found a stolen vehicle stopped in the middle of 7th Street near I-35.
"The officer approached the vehicle to inspect it and saw three people get out and run away. The officer ran after them, and one of the suspects started shooting. The officer shot back, hitting and killing one of the suspects.
"The officer also detained another one of the suspects."
